50+ Ministry
The 50+ Ministry of Hopewell Baptist Church encompasses those in the general age range of 50 and up. Our belief is that the Lord never intended for us to simply retire to the rocking chair and stop making a difference. We believe that as we get older and children leave home that a freedom and ability to influence the world around us becomes available like never before! This stage of life enables us to make a real difference using the wisdom and resources God has given us. Our goal is to provide Adults ages 50 and up with opportunities for spiritual growth and ministry while also providing opportunities for meaningful relationships, networking, group activities, and mentoring the next generation.
We are rethinking and developing ministry to those the world calls Senior Adults and rejecting the traditional view of older adults being told to “get out of the way” or to “make room for progress.” The 50+ Adults who serve Jesus Christ can offer solid support as the Church moves into unprecedented times when wisdom seems to be one of our most rare and precious commodities in America today.
Check back often as we continue to develop this ministry. What the world is calling “The New Normal” is not normal at all. Times change and the church must adjust to new ways but the Gospel never changes and we must work to spread the Gospel to those who need to hear it!
